“The Hallmark of a good relationship is having matching ass tattoos,” and

“A shower thought I recently had was the following: I should quit my job and become a guinea pig breeder?”

You might wonder what these two comments have in common. Well, they’re the answers that some men offered for their online dating profile prompts. The virtual dating world is no walk in the park, my friends.

So as you can probably tell, I didn't go on a "date" this week. I have been talking to someone on Hinge (the dating app), but we weren't able to have a virtual date together. Hopefully we will have one this week! Stay tuned.

I am 6 weeks into dating while quarantined and this is the first week I have not been able to go on a date. Date a Week LA seemed like a huge undertaking when I started it, but I had no idea how hard it would be when an international pandemic hit. So all things considered, I am pretty proud of myself. Trying to develop a relationship with someone while staying 6-feet apart is extremely difficult.

Although this is a setback, it is not the end. Next week will be a new opportunity for me to make a connection.

In the meantime, I decided to compile some of the most interesting/funny posts from Hinge. Hinge is a unique dating app because not only do the users create a profile with their pictures, age, job, height, and home base, but it also allows people to answer prompts.

The prompts range from: "what's your favorite thing to do on the weekend" to "worst idea I've ever had..."

I love this feature of Hinge because it allows for insight into someone's personality. But, it can also show a weird and sometimes creepy side of a person, which is great for someone like me who is not trying to date a Creepy McCreeperson.

So, here is a collection of the most interesting, funny, and weird posts I've read for your entertainment.

Some answers that made me laugh:

These are some pictures that I thought were a little bit sketchy:

Some answers that were questionable and got an immediate no or "swipe left" from me:

An Instagram pic on one of these profiles that genuinely concerned me (on Hinge, you can add the most recent pictures from your Instagram):

Some answers that involved the coronavirus:

Overall Experience:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - because even though I didn't go on a date, I'm still proud of myself. Also, why not? 5 stars for everyone!!

The future for [me]… going on more dates

Next Week: a success, no doubt!
